Book covers

I would like to begin by saying that I don't use any clip art, and that all images are produced by me. If you do prefer to provide images, I will be happy to use them if the quality is good enough. All images have to be at least 300dpi (dots per inch). If you are not sure of the quality of your image, feel free to send it to me, and I will advise.

My work

I love working in the area of book cover design. I really enjoy the process of taking a book that someone has poured their heart and soul into, and giving it a visual personality. I love the Author's reaction as the design comes together. That is part of the fun. Because often it is the authors themselves that come to me, often with lots of ideas about what they do and don't want the cover to look like. It's like a jigsaw, where I try to work out the image that is in their head. I don't always hit on that vision on my first attempt, sometimes changes and adjustments are needed. As I progress with the design, we discuss what works and what doesn't. I will always advise if I feel a direction won't work visually. If the author isn't sure of the direction to take, I can provide variations on a theme so we can see what works best. Those hard won designs are often the most rewarding. Don't get me wrong, when I come up with the perfect design on my first attempt, that is always a joyous moment, but I love those more challenging projects too. If you are in need of a book cover design then feel free to contact me so I can send you a quote.
